Diehl Aviation, a founding member of Hamburg Aviation, opened its second Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg on 28 August 2024. This step follows the successful launch of the first space in Seattle, Washington/USA, and underlines Diehl's commitment to operate close to its customers worldwide in order to better understand and fulfil their needs.
‘Our Customer Collaboration Spaces are a central part of our strategic objectives,’ says Harald Mehring, CCO Diehl Aviation. ‘By working closely with our customers and partners in these innovative environments, we are shaping the future of aviation and driving forward our technology and innovation leadership in the industry.’
The new Hamburg Collaboration Space offers a flexible and dynamic environment that is divided into different areas. These include the Innovation Exhibit Area, which showcases constantly changing prototypes and exhibits; and the Collaborative Workshop Area, where ideas are developed and refined together with customers and partners. This versatile room layout promotes cross-location and cross-functional collaboration and strengthens the innovation process enormously. This is also confirmed by the experience with the Collaboration Space in Seattle, which Diehl Aviation has been operating for around a year.
‘In order to understand our customers‘ needs even better and develop customised solutions for their individual requirements, we want to actively gather customer feedback and drive development forward together,’ emphasises Mehring. Close cooperation with customers in the Customer Collaboration Space enables Diehl Aviation to recognise market requirements at an early stage and develop modular and highly integrated solutions together with customers. The special feature: In principle, the entire range of Diehl Aviation's expertise and portfolio can be utilised in the Collaboration Space, which offers customers an enormous advantage.
The opening ceremony of the new Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg was attended by a large number of customers and partners as well as Hamburg's Senator for Economics and Innovation, Dr Melanie Leonhard. In her opening speech, she said: ‘Hamburg is one of the leading international aviation centres. Companies in the aviation industry find a close network of customers and partners from business, science and politics here. Diehl Aviation's new Customer Collaboration Space will now further strengthen the cabin portfolio in Hamburg. This new experience space involves aircraft manufacturers and airlines in the development process at an early stage. This is good for the companies and for Hamburg as an aviation centre as a whole.’
The opening of the Customer Collaboration Space in Hamburg marks another milestone in Diehl's strategy of continuously expanding its customer base with airlines and aircraft manufacturers. Absolute customer centricity and continuous innovation are key enablers. The Customer Collaboration Spaces are therefore intended to create the ideal environment for working together with customers and partners on the future of aviation.
