The German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI)
BDLI is founding member of Hamburg Aviation.
The BDLI represents a strategically important high-tech sector in which Germany and Europe play a leading global role. The German aerospace industry provides Germany as a business location with a sustainable boost in many respects as a driver of jobs, sales and technology. It is one of the central keys to solving urgent social challenges. With around 250 members, the BDLI represents the interests of an industry that is characterised by international technology leadership and global success. The German aerospace industry is not only the lifeline and driving force of the economy, but also an important employer for predominantly highly qualified employees: with 105,000 direct employees, it bundles almost all key strategic technologies of the 21st century and currently generates an annual sales volume of 39 billion euros (as of 2023).
The BDLI's primary tasks include communication with political institutions, authorities, associations and foreign representations in Germany as well as a wide range of member services in Germany and abroad. The association is also the brand owner of ILA Berlin.
The BDLI is officially accredited by the German Bundestag. It is a member of the European umbrella organisation AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
The BDLI has been registered in the federal lobby register since January 2022. This creates transparency and traceability in the political representation of interests.
