Hamburg clusters strengthening businesses
in the competition for skilled workers

The shortage of skilled workers is one of the biggest challenges facing Hamburg's economy – across all sectors and particularly noticeable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Attracting qualified employees, developing skills in a targeted manner and retaining people in the long term has long been a decisive competitive factor. This is exactly where TALENTready comes in.

TALENTready is an innovation project based in Hamburg that aims to secure a sustainable supply of skilled workers for the future. Using data-driven, digital and AI-supported solutions, the project helps companies to develop their human resources work in a strategic and sustainable manner. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), TALENTready brings together the expertise of six strong cluster organisations in Hamburg:

  • Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg (EEHH)
  • Food Cluster Hamburg (FCHH)
  • Hamburg Aviation (HAv)
  • Life Science Nord (LSN)
  • Logistik-Initiative Hamburg (LIHH)
  • Maritimes Cluster Norddeutschland (MCN)

Together, we are breaking new ground for a modern working environment.

Holistic solutions throughout the employee lifecycle

The focus is on practical and application-oriented approaches throughout the entire skilled worker life cycle:

  • Acquisition: AI-supported recruiting and target group-oriented communication
  • Development: Data-based personnel planning and innovative training formats
  • Retention: Modern concepts for motivation, loyalty and employer attractiveness

The starting point is a comprehensive analysis of industry-specific challenges. Based on this, suitable digital HR tools are identified, evaluated and specifically prepared for use in SMEs.

All solutions are developed in close cooperation with companies and HR managers – user-centred, iterative and consistently practical.
