MRO Monday 2026 will once again bring together leading figures from industry, research and innovation to discuss the future of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) in the aviation sector.

Organised by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), the event provides a platform for discussion on current trends, technological developments and key challenges in maintenance. The focus is particularly on digitalisation, automation, sustainable competitiveness and new forms of collaboration between research and industry.

Agenda

The first day of the event begins in the afternoon with a welcome address and a kick-off keynote. The focus will then shift to successful collaborative projects between industry partners and the DLR. A particular highlight is the EXPO: DLR researcher Marc Bestmann will provide insights into current robotics and automation projects, before the exhibition is officially opened during a networking event.

The second day begins with a keynote address by Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft on the topic of interdisciplinary collaboration within the Cross Innovation Hub. Afterwards, participants can look forward to several parallel sessions addressing key future topics in MRO:

  • Sustainable Competitiveness: How sustainability and competitiveness can be considered together – from the circular economy and digital methods to new process approaches.
  • Human-Focused AI Technologies: Technologies designed to support people in maintenance, particularly in the context of skills shortages and increasing digitalisation.
  • Maintenance for new aircraft concepts: Maintenance requirements for revolutionary aircraft designs, for example in the context of alternative propulsion systems such as hydrogen.
  • Data without Limits: Innovative approaches at the interface of AI, physics and data analysis – from synthetic data to data-driven efficiency gains.
  • Automation Technologies: New robotic and data-based solutions for automating complex MRO processes.
  • Condition-Based Maintenance: Condition-based maintenance concepts to increase efficiency and operational safety.

The programme will be complemented by networking breaks, as well as a closing keynote speech and a summary of the event.

Target Audience

MRO Monday is aimed at representatives from industry, academia and politics who are actively involved in the further development of MRO processes and technologies.

The event will be held in English.

We look forward to seeing you there!
