Aviation innovation is entering the next round: the new call for proposals for the German Federal Aviation Research Programme (LuFo) is about to be published, and we would like to invite you to the LuFo Info Day on 23 April 2026. This joint event organised by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and the Project Management Agency for Aviation Research (PT-LF) will give you the best possible preparation – attend in-person in Berlin or online.
LuFo Info Day: a good basis for a successful project outline submission
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) intends to fund aviation research projects as part of the Federal Aviation Research Programme (LuFo). Research and development projects in the field of aviation can be submitted to this funding programme. The LuFo Info Day provides information about this funding process, the latest developments in the procedure and the objectives of the funding programme.
The contact for the aviation research programme is the Project Management Agency Aviation Research, which supports the BMWE in the administrative and technical handling of research funding.
LuFo uses a two-stage application process. This consists of two phases: first, the submission of an outline of the research project and, after positive evaluation of this outline, an invitation to the second phase, the application phase. Further information and all important documents will be provided at the information event.
The event also offers space for discussions on the current and future shape of civil aviation research in Germany. Take advantage of this opportunity to prepare for the new call and ask specific questions!
