How can take-off and landing sites for drones be systematically planned in the future? Which locations are suitable, and how can cities integrate urban air mobility into their spatial planning?
These questions will be the focus of the upcoming CITYAM webinar, to which the Interreg project cordially invites all interested parties.
- When? November 17, 2025 | 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Where? Online webinar
The new GIS tool for planning and prioritizing take-off and landing sites for drones will be presented. The geodata tool combines the mapping and evaluation of potential locations and supports cities and municipalities in the strategic planning of drone infrastructures.
The tool has already been tested in the CITYAM Lead Cities of Helsinki, Hamburg, and Stockholm. The findings from these pilot projects have been incorporated into further development to make the tool applicable to cities throughout the Baltic Sea region in the future.
In addition to the tool demonstration, you can expect exciting insights into research and development from our international partners.
Agenda:
- Welcome & introduction to the Interreg Baltic Sea Region project CITYAM – Denise Braemer, Project Manager, CITYAM for Hamburg, Hamburg Aviation
- Presentation of the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI) + Q&A – Eija Honkavaara, Research Professor, FGI
- Demonstration of the GIS tool + Q&A – Anssi Jussila, MSc, Research Scientist, MSc from Geoinformatics at Aalto University
- Conclusion & open Q&A session
You can already get a first impression here: CITYAM report & GIS tool.
We look forward to an exciting exchange about the future of drone infrastructure in cities!
Participation is free of charge. Please register for the event HERE.
Note: The event will be held mainly in English.
