REALISE

The Mobile Runway System

REALISE (“Runway independent automatic launch and landing system”) is a revolutionary future concept for aviation, currently being designed in Hamburg. The new technology will allow operators of fixed-wing unmanned air vehicles to use light and heavy-weight aircraft flexibly and independently in XSTOL (extra short take off & landing) scenarios. REALISE’s goal is to provide a mobile runway system that can be set up for operations by less than five people within 60 minutes, almost no matter where.

The REALISE consortium includes renowned companies and institutions such as Airbus, DLR and TÜV Nord, as well as specialized SMEs and network organizations from the Hamburg region, one of the world’s leading sites for technologies in aviation.

REALISE is co-funded for research by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF.
