With more than 5,000 employees and an annual turnover of around 1.5 bn Euro, Diehl Aviation is one of five divisions in the Diehl Group, a family owned enterprise with activities in various industries, counting more than 17,000 employees worldwide.

Hamburg is one focal point for Diehl Aviation. Adjacent to customers and partners in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, Diehl develops and produces monuments for aircraft cabin interiors, primarily lavatories and galleys. In addition, Diehl Aviation’s Hamburg site supports the company’s worldwide Customer Services network. Furthermore, the Diehl Aviation assists its customer Airbus at the Hamburg site with so-called “on-site support” services at the aircraft final assembly line.

Diehl Aviation provides cabin interiors elements not only as line fit products to the aircraft manufacturer’s final assembly line, but also offers airlines solutions for aircraft cabin retrofit requirements. Diehl Aviation’s retrofit business, as well as the company’s digital transformation hub, are located in Hamburg.

In addition, Diehl Aviation participates strongly in the center for applied aviation research (ZAL) in Hamburg. In this collaborative institution, many industry players develop ideas and solutions for aircraft cabins and aircraft systems of the future together.

Several hundred employees work for Diehl Aviation in Hamburg, while the corporate head office is located in Laupheim in South West Germany. Further Diehl Aviation sites in Germany are located in Gilching and Dresden, as well as Überlingen, Frankfurt, Nürnberg and Rostock. These sites contribute further components to the Diehl Aviation product line, such as baggage compartments, cabin crew rest areas, avionics, cabin electronics, cabin interior lighting, water and waste management systems, smoke detection as well as air ducting.

A further production site in Hungary and representations and customer support centers in the USA, Canada, France and Singapore add to the global presence of Diehl Aviation.
