HAW is one of the most important educational institutions for the aviation industry in Hamburg, offering an array of opportunities to successfully start a career in aviation.

HAW Hamburg has open places available for its autumn 2022 intake in the fields of mechatronics and electrical engineering. Both areas are in great demand in aviation. Applicants still have until 19 September 2022 to apply for the Mechatronics B.Sc. degree programme. The offer is valid until all places are filled. Meanwhile, HAW is also offering a virtual information event for appluicants interested in joining the 2022 Electronic Engineering course.

Studying Mechatronics at HAW Hamburg

An interest in robotics, autonomous driving and digital engineering, paired with good analytical thinking skills and spatial imagination: these are the essential requirements for studying mechatronics at HAW Hamburg. Mechatronics brings together the best of three worlds: Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. At HAW Hamburg, mechatronics is part of the Department of Automotive and Aircraft Engineering and combines systems thinking with mobility.

Mechatronics engineers develop systems that can be found in airbags, hard drives, ticket machines, digital cameras or machine tools. With a wide-ranging education, HAW students get a good overview of the entire field with a special focus on interdisciplinary projects. This means that HAW students are also well prepared for management and organisational positions. Graduates work in research and development, design and manufacturing, assembly and production technology as well as in quality assurance, sales or even in science research.

Electrical Engineering: The Environmentally Friendly Technologies of Tomorrow

The Electrical Engineering degree programme teaches how data streams and energy supply networks are designed, developed, produced and maintained in the application fields of mobility, cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, smart home, robotics, energy and sustainability. HAW Hamburg offers a virtual information event on 20.9.2022, where lecturers will give insights into their subjects of focus, and show areas at the HAW such as the laboratories. The structure and process of the degree programme will also be explained. Afterwards, participants have the opportunity to ask questions about course content or the application process.
