Half of the 80 new aircraft to be delivered from Airbus's Hamburg facility.

Airbus has announced a substantial new order for its A320 family of aircraft from BOC Aviation. The global lessor has placed an order for 80 airframes across the A320 family, comprising 50 A321neo, 20 A320neo and 10 A321XLR. 40 of the aircraft are due to be delivered from Airbus’s Hamburg manufacturing facility at Finkenwerder.

We look forward to continuously providing our customers with such fuel-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft solutions.”

Among the features of the A320neo family are a new generation of engines and Sharklet wing-tip devices. These innovations deliver substantially improved efficienty, with 20% fuel savings and CO2 emissions; noise is reduced by 50%. Meanwhile, the new A321XLR extends the range of Airbus’s successful single-aisle model to 4,700nm, or up to 11 hours flying time.

According to Airbus, the A320neo family has tallied over 7,900 orders from over 120 customers. Since its Entry into Service six years ago, Airbus has delivered over 2,100 A320neo Family aircraft contributing to 10 million tons of CO2 saving.
