Hamburg@work: Events for digital actors and companies in aviation

01.08.2017Tips and Information

On the 7th of September 2017, Hamburg@work is celebrating its 20th anniversary by hosting the future conference "20th Anniversary Summit" at Kampnagel in Hamburg.

There, Hamburg@work will pose the digital age's most important questions. How will digitalisation shape our future world? What are the risks and chances of face recognition, mobile payment, wearable technology and artificial intelligence for our society and for our economy? Seven international speakers know the answers, one of whom is Roya Mahboob: As the founder of the non-profit organisation Digital Citizen Fund, Roya enables girls and women in developing countries to access the internet and trains them on being IT-experts. Prosecuted by the Taliban, Roya Mahboob had to flee to New York from where she leads the fight for women's rights. She has been named one of the most influential people in the world by Time magazine.

Prof. Dr. Henning Vöpel of the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI) is another one of seven speakers. His research is concerned with the future of our cities, especially their development into #smartcities. In his vision, the urban centers of tomorrow will have rid itself of the contraints of production, radically reorganizing, coordinating and desynchonizing everyday life in the process. According to him, the most decisive factor will be power of innovation. Missing out on urban transformation might mean not being able to keep up with the future.
