BVIZ, Germany's federal association of innovation, technology and business incubation centres, awarded ZAL its quality seal at the annual members' conference in Luebeck. The recognition process involves an auditing procedure that takes several months, in which ZAL's competencies were examined in four different areas: business start-up and incubation, technology transfer, economic development and commercial feasibility. BVIZ has standardised quality norms that have to be met. The quality seal is valid for a period of five years. At the end of this period, the innovation centres may apply for a new audit.
The quality seal as Recognised Innovation Centre is gaining increasing recognition in politics and the media as well as with customers and partner organisations. An important reason for this is that the associated audit for the innovation centre represents an outstanding opportunity to optimise and improve the services offered as well as internal work processes.
