State-funded Vocational School, Manufacture- and Aviation technologies G 15

The G 15 is Hamburgs state-funded vocational school supplying apprenticeships for the professions aircraft mechanic and aircraft electronics. In addition a secondary vocational training for the profession technician for aviation technology is offered.

Qualified staff and teaching equipment in compliance with aviation-specific standards are provided.

Our guiding ideas:

The major idea is to conduct apprenticeships and further trainings as close to practice as possible and oriented towards the participants.

Present Emphases:

  • Primary apprenticeship as aircraft electronics and aircraft mechanics electronics
  • Secondary vocational training as technician for aviation technology (focused on mechanic/structure and avionic/electronic)

Our Goals:

We aim to improve your skills in aviation technology and to expand your general education.

We want to enable you to successfully work on inner-company tasks and to meet the requirements of middle management.

Upon successful completion of your training you will be a certified technician for aviation technology,

  • qualified to enroll at university of applied science/advanced technical college,
  • certified in fundamental examination CAT B1.1 or CAT B2 in cooperation with the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt

Organizational form:

  • The duration of the training is two-and-a-half years. 2400 hours are theoretical training.
  • The classes take place five days a week, from 8.00 am to 03.00 pm.
  • The school and inner-company time alternate in a half year rhythm.
  • The company times organized by the participants themselves. The school provides companies, which have to be support the participants with work contracts for the inner-company time.

Your qualification:

  • Completed primary training in a suitable profession. 
  • One year of professional experience.
  • Or five years of time spent working on an aircraft company

Our target group:

  • You are currently servicing an apprenticeship and want to start secondary vocational training. You want to improve your skills to go for a career.
  • You aspire a CAT B1 or a CAT B2 certification in order to work on aircraft abroad.
  • You want additional vocational training, but an engineering degree takes too long.
  • You are working in a company in the field of aviation technology.
